Thirty years ago, the Lycée Français de Chicago was born at its first home on Bittersweet Place. We’ve chronicled the school's history in "A Dream Continues" and relived it "Through the Eyes of Teachers," but now it's time to actually see where it all began.
Tucked away near Lake Shore Drive and Irving Park Road, this building helped shape who we are today, where founding teachers first sparked students' curiosities and our community's earliest formative experiences took hold. Bittersweet was always more than just a building; it was our foundation.
