Spelling Bee Champion!

Two adults and four students pose against a white background

On January 10, our six grade-level winners of the Scripps National Spelling Bee—held annually at LFC for students in Grades 3 through 8—participated in the all-school finals to determine our school champion. Miranda D. (3rd grade), Mabel M. (4th grade), Alana G. (5th grade), Tess K. (6th grade), Oscar D. (7th grade), and Anand G. (8th grade) spelled words like "lyricist" and "precocious" correctly to keep the bee going for 10 rounds. Anand G. secured a victory with the word "jackdaw" and will go on to represent the LFC in the regional spelling bee. Congratulations to Anand, our back-to-back LFC spelling champion, and to all the other participants! You truly showcased the Joy of Learning, a value dear to our school.
