Portraits of Our Community: Louis Comte, Class of 2018

LFC Alum, Louis Comte, over the years

This week, as part of our series, "Oui" are the Lycée: Portraits of our Community, we are delighted to learn more about Louis Comte, an LFC alumni from the class of 2018. A French-American, Louis joined the Lycée in 2013 as an eighth-grader. He currently works as a Social Media Manager at SRW and serves as the Alumni Representative on the LFC Board of Trustees.

Tell us about yourself.

The first thing I usually share when meeting new people is the places I've grown up in, because each of them have and continue to impact how I develop as a person. I grew up between Paris, Rome, Geneva and Chicago, and the people I've met while living and revisiting these places have fueled the various passions that are at the center of my life and personality. I cultivate and build connections between my passions for cars, motorsports, photography, travel, contemporary art and design, and cooking on a daily basis, and I see my professional career as a means to support my passions.

Why was the LFC a good fit for you?

The LFC was a particularly good fit for me as it enabled me to learn and study in small groups with more direct access to support from the teachers, which was crucial in having a successful high school education that enabled me to join a strong university in the United States. I also particularly value the opportunity to receive this education within a group of students who, despite our completely different backgrounds, were able to connect thanks to growing up in multicultural environments, which has taught me a lot about how to continue connecting with new people from all over the world.

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise our readers.

Even though I stay connected with classmates from the LFC and have met some of my closest friends at the Lycée, I’ve been fortunate to build strong friendships with faculty and staff members after graduating—some of whom were my former teachers and are now close friends!
