Portraits of Our Community: Louis Alcade, Class of 2020

Four photos of LFC alumni, Louis Alcade, over the years

As part of our ongoing series, "Oui" are the Lycée: Portraits of our Community, we are delighted this week to learn more about Louis Alcade, an LFC alumni from the class of 2020. A French-American, Louis joined the Lycée in 2005 in pre-K. He currently works as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Producer at DaVinci Street Productions.

Tell us about yourself.

I started at the Lycée back in petite section in 2005 and spent fifteen years there, eventually graduating in 2020 from the IB program with a bilingual diploma. From there, I went on to study film production at DePaul University’s School of Cinematic Arts, where I produced my first feature film and joined what would become my creative home base, DaVinci Street Productions. Since then, our team has opened a studio and office in Chicago’s Fulton Market and grown into a full-service film and digital media company working with small and mid-sized businesses. This past year has been especially meaningful: I celebrated the (soon-to-be-announced) distribution deal for my first feature film, Provenance, and welcomed my son, Henri, into the world.

Why was the LFC a good fit for you?

The Lycée was the perfect fit for me because it offered both a rigorous education and the opportunity to be part of an incredible, supportive international community. Looking back, it didn’t just prepare me for university, it shaped how I think, collaborate, and approach every project today. I’m grateful to still have close relationships with the friends and teachers who made my time at the Lycée so meaningful. I hope to give my son the same opportunity that I had!

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise our readers.

Something that might surprise readers is how often the Lycée community continues to play a role in my work. Through DaVinci Street Productions, I’ve had the chance to collaborate with clients who are part of the Lycée community and even to create projects for the school itself. My first feature film, Provenance, which began as a passion project during college with my roommates, has since secured a distribution deal and is set to have its premiere in early spring of 2026.
