Portraits of Our Community: LFC New Chef, Gustavo Castaneda
This week, as part of our series, "Oui" are the Lycée: Portraits of our Community*, we are delighted to learn more about Gustavo Castaneda, the inaugural chef working in the LFC kitchen, who joined the HandCut Foods lunch team earlier this month.
Tell us about yourself.
I was born in Mexico City and grew up in Chicago. As a kid, I always had an interest in cooking. After high school, I decided to begin my culinary journey and enrolled in the Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts program in Chicago. Upon graduating, I began working in many kitchens in the city. I have over twenty years experience in the hospitality and food service industry.
Why is the Lycée a good fit for you?
As a new team member of HandCut Foods, I am very excited to join the LFC community. I believe it’s essential for all students to have a delicious and nutritious meal every day. I look forward to serving the LFC students and faculty.
Do you have any favorite LFC moments?
So far, meeting the kids and the staff!
