“Oui” Are Involved: The Seran Family
The Lycée has a proud culture of engagement and philanthropy. Our series, “Oui” are Involved, highlights community members who give their time, expertise and resources to help enhance the LFC experience for all. This week, we learn more about Aurélie Richard, who joined the LFC Board of Trustees in 2018, and has served as Chair of the Finance Committee and Board Treasurer since 2021. Aurélie and her husband, Alexandre Seran, joined the LFC community in 2016 and have two children, Gabriel and Raphaël, both in Grade 5.
Tell us about yourself.
We moved to Chicago 16 years ago and quickly fell in love with the city's charm. We are a French-Lebanese family and divide our free time between France, Lebanon and constantly exploring the United States.
How and why do you choose to get involved at the Lycée?
Because we live far from our families, the Lycée community has truly become our second family. It’s very important to us that our children continue to learn about their culture, and their education at LFC keeps us all connected to French culture. That’s why we contribute as much as we can to school life.

We take part in all school events and especially love helping out at the French Market; it's an exceptional moment of community and friendship.
