LFC Shines at the JIJ in Athens

Collage of 5 photos from this year's JIJ trip to Athens, Greece

From May 27 to June 2, the Lycée participated in the 13th edition of the International Youth Games (JIJ) held in Athens, Greece. This sporting and cultural event is the largest school competition organized by the French Ministry of Education (AEFE and UNSS).

Selected from 17 candidates, six 10th-grade students – Adam B., Lilly D., Sophia D., Kitty F., Louis K. and Noé P. – represented our school, city and country among 63 other French establishments from around the world, with approximately 450 students participating from 40 countries. Their coaches Philippe Audasso, Michael Blain and Charlène Boige have been training our team since February!

The 64 teams competed in a variety of events including a triathlon, an urban race, kayaking, ultimate frisbee, beach volleyball, an ancient pentathlon and dance. The athletic talents and perseverance of our students paid off: they earned sixth place in the overall JIJ ranking – allowing the LFC to finish in the top 10 for the fourth year in a row! An incredible feat considering the number of participating schools and the level of competition.

Congratulations to our six champions and their coaches. We are proud of the achievements of our athletes, who showed the best of LFC to the rest of the world. Enjoy their video submission made in advance for their dance event, "Dance the JIJ," for which the students had to present their country, their city and their school. Go Flames, go LFC!
