LFC Integration Camps: Wonderful Team Building Adventures
To start the school year, six out of our fifteen grades spent time in Wisconsin’s great outdoors getting to know each other, reflecting on our school values – respect, responsibility, joy of learning – and, of course, having fun.
In September, our high school students, specifically our 9th and 10th graders on the one hand and our 11th and 12th graders on the other, spent two days in the middle of nature at Covenant Harbor in Lake Geneva, WI, followed by our 6th graders, who visited at the beginning of October. For the third year in a row, students took part in a wide range of individual and team activities: canoeing (6th), kayaking (high school), zip-lining (6th), high rope courses (high school), rock climbing, archery, ax throwing (high school), hiking and, of course, the beloved campfire. Students enjoyed many memorable moments and meals all together, making it the perfect atmosphere for another successful integration camp.
Additionally, for the past two years, our 4th-grade students have been lucky enough to spend three days at Camp Edwards in Wisconsin. Like their older peers, they played team-building games, climbed, did archery, went ziplining and enjoyed other outdoor activities. They also discovered more about the flora and fauna of the forest and wetlands. To end the trip, students enjoyed the long-awaited campfire party and smores, followed by a nighttime walk through the forest!
There’s no better start to the year than group bonding, getting to know your teachers, and encouraging everyone to step out of their comfort zones and build self-confidence. All of our students came back filled with joy and great memories. An incredible tradition loved by primary and secondary alike! A big thank you to their chaperones, without whom these special moments between classmates and teachers would not have happened.
