A Successful Flames Season

Collage of 5 photos from this year's Flames season

This spring, our Flames athletes represented LFC throughout Illinois with enthusiasm and talent. They achieved impressive results and we are proud of their accomplishments:

  • In middle school:
    • In track and field:
      • Our four 4x100m relay sprinters (Ainslie B., Amel D., Maya L. and Nya S.) qualified for the IHSA State Finals, where they placed 17th. A remarkable performance by our runners.
      • Maya L. also qualified for the IHSA State finals in the 200m race and long jump, taking home a 6th-place medal for her 4.85m jump and 11th place for her 28"24 time in the 200m. Incredible!
    • In volleyball, the JV boys (Grades 6-7) are CAMS League champions after beating British 2-1 in the final. The Varsity boys (Grade 8) placed 2nd after a close final match against British, losing by only two points.
    • In soccer, the girls team also placed 2nd in the CAMS League after a thrilling season.
  • In high school:
    • In track and field, Layla L. qualified for the 100m and 200m finals of the IHSA State Finals — where she placed 5th in the 100m and 7th in the 200m. Extraordinary!
    • In volleyball, our players shined all season by not only reaching the final of their Lakeshore Athletic League, but also the final of the regionals competition, where they were bested by Lane Tech.
    • In soccer, our players achieved the same feat — reaching both the Lakeshore Athletic League final and regional finals, losing to Latin.

Many thanks to their respective coaches for their dedication and professionalism.
