This week, students in 10IB finish their language trip to France, where they have been staying with host families and attending classes outside of Paris, as well as visiting historical sites such as Mont-Saint-Michel. These international travel opportunities, which begin in Grade 5, allow students to immerse themselves in languages, cultures, and build lasting confidence. Similarly, our 10th-grade exchange programs are a powerful formative experience for our students, both academically and personally. Discover the benefits of these international experiences in this recent article by Chicago Parent.
Bravo! Paul A., Thomas C.-M. and Karen S., three 12th-grade students who chose the “numérique et sciences informatiques” (NSI) speciality as part of their Bac curriculum, recently took part in the team qualifiers for the French cybersecurity "Red Team Competition." They finished second out of 139 teams from all over the world who took part in the online qualifying phase! Although unable to participate in the final for geographical eligibility reasons, they demonstrated an excellent command of digital investigation techniques.
Congratulations to LFC senior Robert K., who was recently named a semifinalist in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program, in recognition of his outstanding achievement on the PSAT/NMSQT among the other 1.3 million juniors who took the test nationwide. He will now compete to advance to the finalist level. Good luck!
