LFC Shines at the JIJ in Brussels
Last week, from May 30 to June 4, the Lycée participated in the 11th edition of the International Youth Games (JIJ) held in Brussels. This sporting and cultural event is the largest school competition organized by the French Ministry of Education (AEFE and UNSS).
Six 10th-grade students – Elias B., Juliette F., Genna F., Lucas F., Natalia G. and Thomas P. – represented the LFC among 49 other Lycées Français from around the world, with approximately 450 students participating from 42 countries and five continents. Their coaches Philippe Audasso, Julie Collinet, Charlène Boige and Joseph Leblanc have been coaching our team since February!
The 50 teams competed in a variety of events including badminton, rugby, dance and CrossFit, as well as an obstacle course, an urban rally, a laser run and an orienteering race. The athletic talents and perseverance of our students paid off: they earned third place in the overall JIJ ranking. An incredible feat considering the number of participating schools and the level of competition.
Congratulations to our six champions and their coaches. We are proud of the achievements of our athletes, who showed the best of LFC to the rest of the world. Enjoy their video submission made in advance for their dance event, "Dance the JIJ," for which the students had to present their country, their city and their school.
Go Flames, go LFC!
