Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Collage of Pop-Art Style Self Portraits made by Grade 4

The LFC is deeply committed to DEI.

We value diversity as a mirror of today’s world and a driver towards a better future.

This includes, but is not limited to, different cultures, ethnicities, races, nationalities, languages, learning abilities, physical abilities, religions, gender expression, sexual orientation, family structure and socioeconomic status. We know that diversity cannot be an end in itself. In all communities, it must be supported by feelings of inclusion, equity and belonging for everyone and a strong culture of empathy and equity.

Thankful for Our Diversity Day

Our uncompromising commitment to equity and inclusion is central to LFC’s vision, mission and core values of respect, responsibility and the joy of teaching and learning.

Inclusion enhances diversity, enabling us to embrace and celebrate our differences and promote mutual respect. It is accepting and respecting one another for who they are that ensures a safe and nurturing environment for our entire community: students, families and staff members.

Diversity, equity and inclusion are essential to a strong and healthy community. Accordingly, we encourage and provide support for all members of our community to cultivate the ability to have difficult, courageous and authentic conversations about equity and social justice.
