How to Apply

Lycée Chicago Daycare welcomes children beginning at 15 months, with applications accepted year-round based on space availability.

Daycare follows a separate application and enrollment process through Brightwheel. Learn more about Daycare admissions.

Who can apply? 

• Pre-K: Children must turn 3 by December 31 and be fully potty-trained by the first day of school.
• Jr-K: Children must turn 4 by December 31.
• Kindergarten: Children must turn 5 by December 31.
• No prior French is required.

Additional Requirements
Families may be asked to provide available school or progress reports and a teacher recommendation, when applicable. Applicants participate in an age-appropriate assessment or playdate, and families meet with a member of the Admissions Team.

Scheduling information will be shared with applicant families.

Current Lycée Chicago Daycare Families
Daycare students transitioning to Pre-K benefit from a simplified and prioritized admissions process. The first application fee is waived, and no assessment or progress report is required.

Who can apply? 

• Non-French-speaking students may be eligible through our Welcoming Language Program, depending on grade level and space availability.
• Students currently enrolled in the French school system or students with a strong level of French.

Application Requirements
Applicants are asked to provide:

• Report cards from the past three school years.
• A teacher recommendation, completed by the student’s current teacher.
• A copy of the student’s ID or birth certificate.

Applicants will also participate in an individual observation. French-speaking students who are not currently enrolled in the French school system may be asked to complete a French-language evaluation.

Potential Welcoming Language Program candidates will be invited to participate in a Shadow Day.

Who can apply?

• Non-French-speaking students may apply to our Middle Years Programme (MYP) beginning in Grade 6.
• Students currently enrolled in the French school system or students with a strong level of French may apply to our French program.

Application Requirements

• English and math teacher recommendations.
• A copy of the student’s ID or birth certificate.

French-speaking students who are not currently enrolled in the French school system may be asked to complete a French-language evaluation.

Depending on the student’s program and background, additional information or evaluation may be requested as part of the admissions process.

Who can apply?

• International Baccalaureate (IB): English-speaking students may apply to Grades 9–11. No prior French is required. Students applying to Grade 12 must already be enrolled in an IB Diploma Programme.

• French Baccalaureate: Students currently enrolled in the French school system or students with a strong level of French may apply.

Application Requirements

All High School applicants are asked to provide:

• Report cards from the past three school years.

• English and math teacher recommendations.

• A copy of the student’s ID or birth certificate.

International Baccalaureate Applicants

IB applicants are asked to submit ISEE results, with Lycée Chicago designated as a score recipient, and will participate in a Shadow Day at Lycée Chicago.

French Baccalaureate Applicants

• French-speaking students who are not currently enrolled in the French school system may be asked to complete a French-language evaluation.
• Students applying to Grades 10–12 should provide results of the Brevet, if available. Grade 12 applicants should also provide results of the épreuves anticipées du Baccalauréat, if available.
