Positive Environment

With students from many different countries, diversity and multiculturalism are at the heart of the Lycée experience. We strive to create an atmosphere that makes each student feel at home and to actively assist him or her in adapting to our school. And while our teacher-to-student ratio varies by subject and grade level, we are committed to ensuring that every student receives the personal attention he or she needs.

Our entire faculty and our school counselor work with parents to assess student progress and make sure any learning or emotional difficulty is detected and handled swiftly. This includes the scheduling of remediation and after-school support and, in some cases, referral to an external speech specialist who works in cooperation with the Lycée.

To further ensure student wellbeing, we have implemented progressive programs, utilizing a model of global prevention, to address social and emotional issues––which are often a cause of learning difficulties––and to promote a positive climate. We strive to clearly communicate behavioral expectations and stress conflict resolution, peer mediation and tutoring, and character development. These programs are conducted in cooperation with the School Advisory Committee.
