Interactive Communication

Open communication is a priority at the Lycée. To help keep parents up to date about day-to-day life at the school and foster communication with the faculty and staff, we have developed a number of tools:

Online School Calendar:
Available through this site, our school calendar is a master list of everything happening at the Lycée, from open house presentations and parent-teacher conferences to sporting events and early dismissal times. Plus, it can be sorted by topic or group to help parents quickly find the information they need.

Class Web Pages:
Many of our classes maintain their own web pages that feature information on homework, test schedules, upcoming field trips and more. Parents can log in by clicking on the blue button My Lycée class login, located on the upper right side of any page.

Feuilles Volantes:
We publish a printed flier called Feuilles Volantes that is distributed through our students. It is also viewable on this site in PDF format.

Room Parents:
Parents can also choose to become directly involved in the school by volunteering as Room Parents. They serve as liaisons between the class and other parents.

  • Room parents help coordinate and participate in class activities, such as: chaperoning field trips, providing snacks, organizing a parent get-togethers, coordinating the purchase of teacher gifts, and leading special topical workshops in which they have expertise.
  • Room parents facilitate communication between classroom parents and their teachers; they help welcome new families, manage the class calling tree, and contact other families in case of snow days and other emergencies. They also help contact other families for special events and, when questions arise, help to direct other parents to the appropriate school resource.

Correspondence Notebook:
The correspondence notebook is the usual means of communication between the school and the family. Parents are expected to read and sign the correspondence notebook regularly.

Report Cards and School Work Reviews:
Parents receive a report card on their children's work twice a year for preschoolers and three times a year for students in elementary and secondary school. These report cards must be sent back to school after being reviewed and signed by the parents at the end of the first and second terms, but can be kept at the end of the school year. Throughout the year, parents will also receive tests or other school work they will be asked to review, sign and return.

Direct Contact :
We encourage parents to contact the faculty directly to discuss their children's progress whenever necessary:

  • For academic questions, contact the teacher directly by email or call the office for an appointment.
  • For non-academic or discipline questions, contact the teacher in Elementary School, the Dean of Students in Middle School and the High School Coordinator in High School.
  • For behavior or learning issues, contact the School Counselor.
