On Saturday, March 15, the Lycée Français de Chicago will host Hard Hats & High Heels, a gala themed to celebrate the Lycée’s soon-to-be, state-of-the-art, LEED-certified Lincoln Square campus opening in fall of 2015.
The annual spring Soirée is the school's premier event, an evening of dinner, dancing, & entertainment. Guests are invited to participate in a live auction and silent auction showcasing various luxury items and services.
Each year, the Soirée Committee is organized by parents and development staff who put together a spectacular party on behalf of the Lycée Français de Chicago. The Soirée provides a wonderful opportunity for families and friends to come together in support of the school, and a lovely evening of fun and celebration thanks to the support of individual, national and international business sponsors.
Proceeds from The Soirée provide for need-based scholarships and other important projects and programs that provide a world-class education to Lycée students.
Leading the 2014 Soirée are Co-Chairs Lori Souder and Alissa Shulkin with significant recognition for Soirée Marketing Committee Chairs, Christy Domin and Claire Jonquières; Auction Committee Chairs, Joanna Sevim and Heidi Nowalany; and Sponsors Committee Chairs Virginie Ott-Bono and Holly Kleiman.
There are some delightful changes in store for this year’s Soirée:
We are PLAYFUL…but still CHIC!
This year’s theme, "Hard Hats and High Heels: Building a Community of Global Citizens", is a joyful expression and celebration of a pivotal time in the Lycée’s growth and the upcoming transition to our future home. To compliment this sentiment, we are trading our black-tie dress code for cocktail attire.
The format will be more SOCIAL and INTERACTIVE.
We are focused on engaging our community. With fewer assigned seats (Table Hosts, Family Sponsors and Corporate Sponsors will receive assigned tables), guests will have plenty of time to socialize and bid on our incredible auction items.
The culinary offerings promise to be DELIGHTFUL and ABUNDANT.
There will be plentiful small bites, delectable food stations (French, Vietnamese, Moroccan) and more than one well-stocked bar.
There’s an after party for ALL!
Kick off your heels for a FREE after-party! The "after party" opens upstairs on the 3rd floor, and everyone is invited!
Photo project LOVE.
In true celebration of our community, a focal point of our décor this year will be our very own children. A generous Lycée family has underwritten the cost of hiring a professional photographer, Lisa Gottschalk, to create unique black and white photographs of our children. For the price of a donation, you can take these beautiful photos that evening!
