Fundraising is integral to the development of all not-for-profit, independent schools, and we are no exception.

The Lycée was founded in 1995 with financial support from four French banks––Crédit Agricole, Crédit Lyonnais, BNP and Societe Generale. The following year, Schneider Electric/Square D made a major donation of $500,000 that allowed the school to take off. The Lycée still depends each year on gifts and grants to supplement its operations and to fund its long-term strategic development.

Trustees themselves contribute approximately one third of the school's fundraising goal in any given year.

Working with the development director, the Board also secures major gifts from their individual networks, and from corporations and family foundations. A single Lycée family, for example, has underwritten our prestigious Artist-in-Residence program for the last 10 years.

The development office and Parent Association conduct the Annual Giving Campaign, the goal of which is to secure a contribution from all Lycée families based on their ability to give.
