We are pleased to welcome you to the Lycée. More than anything else, we want your transition into our school and community to be as easy and enjoyable as possible. We recommend that you attend the General Information Meeting, typically held the day before school starts.
Upon enrollment, you will receive a helpful welcome packet and be paired with a mentor family that can answer questions and introduce you to other parents. Our Parent Association also provides a wealth of useful information and hosts special events for new families. To download the Parent Association's "Bienvenue à Chicago" guidebook included in the welcome packet, click here.
Important Deadlines
Before school starts, you will need to complete the following forms and documents.
Lunches
Students may bring their own lunches or sign up for our catered hot lunch service.
Getting To and From School
Parents can walk or drive their children to the school, or students can travel via public transportation. The Parent Association also runs a bus service.
Textbooks
With a few exceptions, school books used in our classes are loaned to students free of charge for the duration of the academic year.
School Supplies
The list of necessary supplies for pre-elementary and elementary school is mailed out to the parents at the beginning of July and is also available online. The Parent Association in collaboration with B&K Office and Art store have organized a school supply program that allows parents to purchase all of their child's school supplies for a one-time fee. For more information on participating in this program, please contact the School Office.
Rules, Regulations, and Dress Code
We recommend that you download our Student Handbook. It outlines our expectations for behavior and rules for dress.
At the Lycée, we work hard to encourage open communication among parents, students, faculty, and staff. We have developed a number of tools to acquaint you with the day-to-day workings of the school and student activities.
Again, we thank you for joining the Lycée community!
